Some of my essays and work in and outside of school!

During the first semester of my Diploma in Arts Management, I had a module called Understanding Visual Arts where I was graded on an essay that had required me to compare a Western and Eastern painting, and their similarities and differences.

When I wrote the essay, I was (and still am) heavily obsessed with Ukiyo-e art, a Japanese art style that was extremely impactful in its culture and history. I was able to compare The Courtesan Hanaōgi of the Ōgiya Brothel, from the series Beauties of the Pleasure Quarters as Six Floral Immortals by Chōbunsai Eishi to Marie Antoinette in a Chemise Dress by Elisabeth Louise Vigée Le Brun. At this time, the artwork inspired me to write Deja Vu, a fan fiction that has garnered almost 40k readers online (see more in the resume section).

I very much enjoyed writing this simple essay, and I hope you enjoy reading it as well!
